I think I mentioned in a previous post that Make-A-Wish Foundation is granting Ray a wish. We were first invited to the Wishing Tower where Ray wrote down his wish and placed in the wishing well. They make it so magical and special, here are a few pictures.
The welcome sign at the front door said Welcome to A Wishing Place Ray!
Once inside the wishing tower he placed his wish inside the wizards hat.

He was so excited. They also had each of us tell Ray what OUR wish for him would be (like happiness, health, etc). It was a very touching and special experience for our family.

After he made his wish we were told that his two wish granters would get back to us.
Well in October they REALLY got back to us!!! We got a call that they were coming and that it was going to be a big deal so we got prepared for some balloons or something. Little did we know what was coming around the corner...literally! The Riverton High School marching band came marching down the street and all our friends and neighbors were there to cheer us on.
We saw the band coming and went outside, this is what we saw!

They played a few songs right in front of our house, and Ray's wish granters put him up front with a big bunch of balloons.

After they were done playing a real Naval Officer announced to the crowd that Ray's wish to visit a Naval Aircraft Carrier was going to be granted and that Ray would be be travelling to San Diego to tour the aircraft carrier, meet the men and women who serve on board, and see the jets that land on it. He presented Ray with the official letter and told Ray to be prepared to answer the call to "serve" his country when it came!

Then the band played another song and while the drumline rocked it the entire band walked past Ray and gave him high fives. Ray was really in shock and was a little stunned to have so much attention on him, but he loved it. I was (and am as I write this) in tears. It was just really special to know that people care...that Ray is alive..that we all survived this hellish summer. It came and went and sometimes I down play how hard it really was because it seemed so short. But then I remember the tears, the long painful nights, the throwing up, the separation from the other kids, the shots, etc. etc. etc. etc. And then I think, any kid who can go through all that and survive absolutely deserves to get a wish! I am really happy for him.

Here are just a few of the supporters who came out cheer for Ray. Every single one of them helped my family in some way or other as well. I don't know how we would have done it without them! Thank you!!
We don't know when we are going to San Diego, but we'll be ready!
If you want to read a newspaper article written about it you can click this link. Good times!
