Tonight I was standing in line next to a woman about my age and I noticed she was wearing braces! "Hey! You have braces too!" Instant friend.
When I am out I find instant friends with:
-any white woman with interracial children
-anyone with Hawaiian or DK a bumper sticker (Denmark)
-any haggard looking mom with young kids
-and now I can add any adult wearing braces!
(I still haven't found anyone, in real life or on the internet, who has had my same surgery....it makes me feel sad sometimes because I can never talk to anyone else who has gone through that and understands it. It would be nice to talk to someone who understands what a pain in the butt it is! (Get it?!!)..oh well...at least I have Megan B. She is in a different "club" than me but is great to talk to! Thanks Meg!)

I'm sad too that you haven't been able to find a network of just this specific problem. But I'll talk about you surgery all day long it you want :)
I got your text, sorry I missed it! Let's get together soon! Maybe even on Friday or something, after Ray gets home you could come over? Kinley is off track right now.
Hey - now I *know* we were meant to be friends! I have braces too, but mine come off in about two weeks. How sweet is that?
To top it all off, I had a surgery done in 2006 that (a) no one likes to talk about [I don't blame them] and (b)I have never met any other woman that has had it, especially my age! Maybe we can commiserate together about out respective surgeries and lack of support...

Hey - I have a DK bumper sticker! What's your connection with Denmark? I'm Danish and mother of two boys: One bio and one adopted. Great to find your blog. :-)
