And here are the after pictures!!Last night the insides of my mouth were so sore from rubbing against the braces that even the wax wasn't helping. So I stuffed wet cotton balls up into my gums to hold my cheeks away from the braces! It felt so good!! What a relief! I looked like a monster and luckily the kids were asleep and Joe is gone so no one had to witness the hour I sat infront of the TV with my mouth hanging open like this!
Why did I want braces again??

Shannan, you are a very brave woman. Every once in a while, I think about someday getting braces, but then I remember my friends and their experiences with braces...I just don't know. I really hope that things get better and the pain eases up soon. How long are you going to have them? Oh, and you are a very cute brace face. Love the puffy cheek look :)
Aw, you look so cute... BRACE FACE! Yeah! I said it. It will get better. I promise. And nothing demonstrates confidence more than a non-teenager with braces. For the record, I myself waited until I was 23 to purchase my very own set.
OHHHH! I FEEL SO BAD FOR YOU! Try motrin and ice! God bless!
The worst days are days 2-4 after getting them on (or new wires put on). You've almost made it through the worst pain.
Not to make you question yourself even further, but I've had braces and your "before" pictures are straighter than my current teeth. (Granted, I haven't worn my retainers in years). Whatever you do, be sure to wear your retainers when you're all done, otherwise, it's a waste.
You are so funny. It will be worth it.
I'm not laughing. I am SO not laughing. Really, I'm not. Ok.... maybe a little. I just LOVE that you posted all those pictures, especially the awesome puffy faces! If you ever want to rob a bank, just stuff cotton balls in your face and no one will recognize you!!!
Braces hurt. A. lot. Ibuprofen, baby.
They look so painful. But I am sure you will be happy in the end - right? I too didn't laugh at the last picture. You are brave - you are my hero.
