My year for books!

I may not have seen a lot of movies but I managed to read 35 books this year. That is about three books a month....so almost one book a week!!! (Plus I still read my scriptures, The Ensign, Vogue, People Magazine, Yoga Journal, LA Yoga, and hundreds of childrens books!!) Wow!! I am a reader!

Here is a list of my favorites I read this year.

Top 10 Books I Read in 2009:

10. Tear Soup, Pat Schweibert
9. Death By Water: A Phryne Fisher Mystery, Kerry Greenwood
8. Evening Class, Maeve Binchy
7. Saturday, Ian McEwan
6. Copper Beech, Meave Binchy
5. We Are All Welcome Here, Elizabeth Berg
4. The Glass Lake, Meave Binchy
3. Mistborn, Brandon Sanderson
2. Cold Sassy Tree, Olive Ann Burns

And my favorite book I read this year.....

1. Marjorie Morningstar, Herman Wouk (It made me sad to realize I am a "Shirley" and therefore made this book painfully honest and close to home. But it is very insightful, funny, and really really lovely.)

I obviously followed a lot of the same authors this year. Next year I hope to read more classics and maybe even read more church books....maybe:)!!
Happy Reading in the New Year!!!

You little bookworm! I'm jealous. Maybe 2010 will be my year for books. My youngest will be one, so maybe...

Wow! I don't know how you keep up with so much reading AND TV AND 4 little ones AND a business AND a traveling husband, etc. etc. I am so pleased that Cold Sassy Tree made your #2!

Hey, have you ever read "As a man Thinketh" by James Allen? It's pretty short, but I think it's a book you would highly enjoy.

Wow 35 books?! Awesome. My favorite book is still A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini.

I cried through most of the book...it was such a painful (as a mother, it just broke me heart)...yet poignant, lovely read.
