Pictureless post

I am too lazy to go down stairs and get the camera to upload photos...but I wanted to give a short update.
Last week our girl turned 5 yrs old. Ruby is a darling girl and is such a delight. She is often my shadow and therefore is my best helper. She is growing up and is a smart and beautiful girl. I will post pics of her birthday when I have the energy.

Yesterday Ray finally returned to the hospital for his follow up PET scan and CT scan on the tumor in his intestines. I don't want to give too many details for his privacy, but the tests did not go well, there was pain, fear, and lots of tears. It was a huge reminder that although these last two months have been pleasant and dare I say easy....we are not out of the woods yet. He is still just a 7 yr old kid dealing with really grown up stuff. Watching him struggle, be in pain, and suffer again yesterday set he and I both back into "I have cancer" and "my son has cancer" mode again. It was hard. We did not get any results yet....those come on Monday. Krysd fingrene.

Bright side; when we we were done we visited the cancer ward and that always makes us happy to see our nurses again. Irish said he didnt' recognize us at all because Ray HAS hair now and I DON'T!! It made us laugh and we left the hospital on a better note.

Happy Birthday to your sweet girl! I'm also sorry. I don't know what to say or do other than you all are constantly in my prayers! I admire you and your strength.

We are praying for Ray daily.

Happy birthday to beautiful Ruby (I was loving her hair when we saw her briefly the other night!), and best of luck and prayers with the test results. We love you guys.
