Ray and I spent a long and tiring day at the hospital having tests. The best part of our day was that he saw his favorite nurse Irish, and he got his favorite wheelchair. (It's small enough that he can wheel himself around)
Ray wanted to have a race with me down the hall. But we just posed for the picture instead of doing it for reals.
In the afternoon we met with Dr. Khatua to learn the results. He told us that all of Ray's tumors are gone...hooray!!...except for one....BOO. There is one tumor/mass that has shrunk in size from the chemo but is still lingering in his small intestines and looks abnormal. Dr. Khatua did not seem worried about it and said it could just be a mass of dead cells and not an active Burkitts tumor.
So the bad news is we are not done yet.
The good news is, Dr. Khatua just wants to watch it for another month. My worst fear was that he would say "See ya next week for another round of chemo." But we will just go back in one month for tests specific for this tumor. Then we will know more.
It was disappointing but Ray is fine. He feels good most of the time, is in school, and his hair is growing back. I am irritated. That's all I will say right now.
It's not the best news but it's not the worst.
Thanks for your prayers and continued support.
