Well it's good news all around.
Ammon had his hearing tests yesterday and they found that the hearing in his right ear was normal, but the left ear has mild hearing loss. He is still failing one of the tests in both ears but we don't know what that means. Basically for now, we just have to be aware and make sure his development isn't delayed by this and when he is older we will know more about what he really can or can't hear. Joe and I are both grateful it turned out this way and we appreciate your prayers and fasting on his behalf. He is such a sweet baby and we are glad that it wasn't worse. I would still like to learn more sign language though as I think it will benefit all my kids. So Sarah...when can you give us a lesson?

My eye surgery also went well. The actual procedure was WAY worse than I'd anticipated. It was really unnerving and kind of scary to be awake and have them pushing and pulling on my eyeball. But my vision is amazing. There are tons of details I can see that I have NEVER been able to see before, even with my best contacts. So that is a miracle and although my eyes are scratchy and sore, I do think it was worth it!
I have the video of my eye surgery if anyone wants to watch it. It is really gross!! Joe couldn't watch it!

Great news for Ammon! That's fantastic!
I have heard the eye surgery is very unpleasant -- one friend said the smell was the worst part.
I am sure that it will be well worth it for the rest of your life!
Ya for both of you! So good to hear that Ammon's results are good. I can't believe you had to be awake for your surgery..YUCK! Kind of like a c-section..YUCK!! I am glad you can see and it sounds like you've totally recovered! Love you!
I'm so happy that things were good on both fronts! Glad you can see well now.
I just made Kyle ask Joe for your blog. You have the cutest family ever! You guys really are amazing! I'd love to come see the kids and your new house. It's been forever.
Oh and by the way, I had Lasik about 7 years ago, so worth it. It will get better every day.
I'm obviously behind and just catching up on all the Sanchez news! I am so relieved that Ammon's tests are better than expected and I'll pray for even more improvement! Congrats on your eyes and though I have not had Lasik, I think I can relate a little to the nervewracking nature of someone poking around in your eye. I remember leaving the optometrist office with my shoulders on fire from being tensed up so tightly. I hope you love Lasik and that you are all healed up now. Scratchy and sore eyes are NO FUN!!!!!!
