This is the most recent photo I have of Joe (mastering the grill in our backyard) but today's post is to honor my awesome husband and the miracles he is performing in Ghana! Well...he and the Lord!!
To make a long story short, Joe ended up taking care of our Ruby who is 2, another 2 yr old girl who is in the process of being adopted, plus my brothers girls who are 10 and 14. He arrived in Ghana at 8:30 am with only a few hours of sleep and was greeted by all four girls and a care giver from the orphanage. He could have freaked out, but he took charge and took them all to the embassy for appointments, to their doctor appointments, got Visa photos for them, fed them lunch and dinner, got them all into rooms at the hotel, took them swimming, and when he realized some documents were missing for the other girls he got them faxed and couriered to him! What a day!! What a man!
Today he picked up my sister-in-law from the airport, took the other 2 yr old to her medical appointment and then drove the long 3 1/2 drive to Hohoe with Ruby so he can pay his respects to her relatives. I JUST got off the phone with him and he was picking up her family and was going to invite them to dinner at the Grand Hotel in Hohoe and will give them the gifts we bought for them. Tomorrow, he will drive back to Accra for another Visa appointment and then will stay in Accra until Sunday when they fly home!
I am so proud of him! What a hero! He said that Ruby is so big and that she recognized him and let him hold her right away. He said she is happy and darling and doing really well and he can't wait to bring her home!! Only 4 more days!
