A plug for wholesome family activities

Tonight I feel like a good mom. It started this afternoon when I checked Ray out of school early and told him we were all going to Jumpin Jacks! Hooray! He was so happy you should have seen the smile on his face as he left the school early....like I was the COOLEST mom ever!!
Jumpin Jacks in West Jordan is small and safe and it was almost empty. Me and my kids ran wild and by the end of two hours they were all red faced and sweaty (well it was hard to tell if Ruby's face was red, but she had sweat literally running down her face!!)

We had a blast!

We picked up some dinner on the way home (In-N-Out Burger) and starting with Ammon, one by one I bathed, read stories to, sang to, and prayed with each child. While they waited for their turn with me Ray got his piano practiced and his homework done, Ruby cleaned part of her room, and Solomon played quietly with some cars. It was such a quiet easy going night. Each kid was so happy and warm and soft. I feel like I did good tonight and there is peace in the world.

I think the thing that made the difference is that we had all done something fun TOGETHER. It doesn't happen easily, but when you can all play together as a family it sure makes a big difference! At least it did tonight for me.
